It’s that time of year again when the wind wreaks havoc with our garbage! Because we don’t want Leesborough to look like a landfill site, it’s the responsibility of each homeowner to make sure that their trash is secured when placed out for collection and that bins are taken back the same day.
One of the best ways to stop paper and cardboard being whisked away like Dorothy to Oz is to order a wheeled cart for paper recycling. Montgomery County will send you one for free if you call the Montgomery County Customer Service Center at 311 (out-of-County: 240‑777‑0311, TTY: 301‑251‑4850): details online here!
If you do use the smaller bins, please try to place them somewhere they won’t topple over (between larger bins or by a wall/garage door) and place heavier items on top to stop lighter ones blowing away.
You might also consider using bungee cords to secure your trash:
And if you pass any trash as you walk around the estate, please pick it up and drop it in one of the bins in the public areas!
